Of all the animal symbols that were revered by the Anglo-Saxons it is quite possibly the Boar that was revered above all others. the wording below is in Old English. it reads Strong & True		Anglo-Saxon God Tiw with a wolf like creature on either side. This image of Tiw was found on ornately crafted jewellery from the Sutton Hoo burial.
